Desperately Seeking Ukuleles at Folk Alliance International

By Mark Kemp

Well, folks, I’m here in Kansas City, Missouri, this week for the annual Folk Alliance International Conference, where more than 3,000 players and singers from more than 20 different countries will be strutting their stuff in the Crown Center area of downtown. I’m here desperately seeking out all kinds of acoustic musicians for Ukulele and its sister publications Acoustic Guitar and Strings, and one act I won’t be missing is Kansas City’s own guitar-and-uke duo Victor & Penny.

Rest assured, I’ll be searching for other ukulele folks, too, but to get things started out before I go sign up for my badge and bag of swag, why don’t we enjoy this little ditty — “Elaine Elaine” — from Victor & Penny’s performance at the 2012 FortUke gathering at Everyday Joe’s in Ft. Collins, Colorado?

Yeah… let’s do.
