First Look at Jake’s Wild New Album!

For his new album, living ukulele legend Jake Shimabukuro is jumping in a new direction. Nashville Sessions, which is scheduled for release September 23, features Jake recorded live in the studio with bassist Nolan Verner and drummer Evan Hutchings.

At the suggestion of his manager, Van Fletcher, the trio went into a studio and created new music by jamming. In a press release, Shimabukuro talked about the challenges and opportunities of going in without an album of songs honed on the road. ““At first I was hesitant,” he said, adding, “We’re just going to go in and jam? Really? With nothing prepared? I never dreamed we would leave the studio six days later with a full album.”
