Grammy Museum Hosts Hula Tribute to the Ukulele

Tinseltown has a thing for ukuleles and the hula.

The Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, California, will host a one-night celebration of our favorite four-stringed instrument on Wednesday, September 27.

Titled KoAloha Ukulele: From Hawaii to Hollywood – Mele in Film, the program will feature a screening of “The Haumana,” Keo Woolford’s 2013 feature-length drama on hula dancing and Hawaiian culture.

Following the film,  KoAloha Ukulele vice president Paul Okami, film composer, Gibi del Barrio, and writer/director, Keo Woolford will take questions from the audience, and California-based  Hula Halau, Kumu Hula Puanani Jung and Halau Hula Lani Ola will perform.
