When it comes to world of ukulele, the more the merrier.

Organizers at the Los Angeles Ukulele Expo hope to break the Guinness World Record for the largest strum along in history. According to the the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center’s website:

The JACCC and its resident ‘ukulele space U-Space present the L.A. Ukulele Expo – with an attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest ‘ukulele ensemble, and an entire day filled the hottest performers, teachers, films, and vendors from the ‘ukulele community.

In order to break the current record, which was set in 2012 in Yokohama, Japan (see video above), the expo will need to bring together at least 2,135 ukulele players to perform in unison. Even if the record is not broken, the event promises to be a good time, and will feature workshops by the likes of Daniel HoAbe Lagrimas Jr., Sarah Maisel, and Steven Espaniola.

The fun kicks off Saturday, June 28 at 10 a.m. at the JACCC campus. For more details on how you can make history and shatter a record, check the group’s website.
