Feel-Good Video Du Jour: A Mando and Uke Version of the Allman Brothers Classic ‘Jessica’!

Here’s a video that is certain to put a spring in your step and bring a smile to your face! The versatile, long-tenured, folk/rock/pop (mostly) acoustic duo known collectively as Ryanhood—Ryan Green and Cameron Hood—have put down their guitars for this truly wonderful mandolin (Ryan) and uke (Cameron) version of Dickey Betts’ infectious Allman Brothers instrumental classic “Jessica” (which originally appeared on the group’s 1973 album Brothers and Sisters). Would it be asking too much to hear a mando/uke take on the Allmans’ “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed,” too? Enjoy! Dancing is encouraged! —Blair Jackson
