Fun at the Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival

By Craig Chee

The 2nd annual Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival was a fun-filled celebration of the ukulele, held at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, in Torrance, California, September 24.

There were many more events this year including uke workshops, hula workshops, uke bass workshops, and more. Performances filled the main stage all day. I had a chance to teach my popular “Ukulele BootCamp” workshop and perform with Sarah Maisel and Milo Fultz. It was great to catch up with familiar faces and meet new members in the uke community!

I think this may be my favorite photo from the festival: Uncle Bobby showing off his Kamaka anniversary shirt from Reyn Spooner.

Know what's really popular these days? A bass workshop! Here's Milo Fultz teaching a class at the Ohana booth.
