LP Credits Ukulele With Helping Her ‘Rediscover’ Performing Career

As she prepares to release her latest solo album, Forever For Now (Warner), LP spoke to Ukulele magazine, and credited the four-stringed instrument with reinvigorating her desire to take the stage again.

“I feel like the ukulele helped me rediscover the enjoyment of writing for myself,” LP said.  “Now, it’s my instrument of choice. I still play guitar but I just take the uke everywhere. It’s sitting next to me right now, in fact.”

The first ever female ambassador for Martin Guitar, LP has custom ukes produced by the company, which she uses on eight of the new album’s 12 tracks. Check out the full interview with LP in the Fall issue of Ukulele.
