NAMM 2019: Inside different string materials, with D’Addario

In this video from the 2019 NAMM show in Anaheim, California, a rep from D’Addario helps to explain how players can get different sounds from their ukuleles by trying strings made from different materials.

From fluorocarbon, to titanium, to different varieties of nylon, these different materials can brighten an instrument that sounds too dark, smooth out a ukulele that sounds too bright, or anything in between.

The New York–based company recently began extruding its own nylon strings, which helps them create more-consistent strings than were possible before.
