VIDEO: Meghan Trainor Plays ‘All About That Bass’ on the Ukulele
If you follow pop music, you may have noticed a recent proliferation of songs sung by women about their own behinds. From Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda,” to Jennifer Lopez’s “Booty,” there are no shortage of songs and videos of late that flaunt that particular body part.
Against that, ahem, backdrop, comes Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” a hit that offers a more nuanced approach to sexuality and female body images, and addresses Trainor’s childhood as a chubby girl.

“Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size 2,” Trainor sings. “But I can shake it, shake it, like I’m supposed to do.”
Trainor can also play a pretty mean ukulele, and has composed numerous songs on the instrument. It’s clear to us that she’s definitely a songwriter, and a uke player, to watch.
