Verse/Intros to the Standards with Fred Sokolow

Wednesdays, September 9 through September 24

The songs of the Great American Songbook (Gershwin, Cole Porter, Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Rodgers & Hart, Berlin, etc.) all had introductory verses that set up the song: different chords, different melody…they make the classic tunes twice as interesting & fun…but hardly anyone sings them and you’ve probably never heard them. It’s like buried treasure! In this class, we’ll play the entire songs as well as the intros, so you’ll learn to play iconic tunes like Georgia On My Mind, As Time Goes By, Over the Rainbow, and more…in their entirety.
